Job Description

You have the chance to join a market leading specialist manufacturer that have an excellent reputation. As the Production Manager you will be responsible for leading a small team in an equipment-centric plant, working with the senior the senior managementteam in order to drive sustainable improvements.Client DetailsThis market leading organisation has an international presence & supply a range of specialist products into a number of industries. They are looking for a Production Manager to join their Birmingham site & play a key part in driving their improvement strategy.DescriptionAs the Production Manager you will be supporting the Plant Manager & acting as the site number two, with the scope to officially progress into that role medium term. You will be leading a team in driving site efficiency & working towards achieving operationalexcellence.Key Responsibilities include:

  • Collate information from production team and machine data to analyse and produce productivity reports.
  • Managing the daily operation of the business unit to ensure lowest efficient production taking into account inventory requirements, energy price forecasts, plant efficiency & resources available
  • Driving operational discipline and safety within the team of supervisors
  • Assisting Plant Manager in the management and alignment of policies & embedding processes, systems & site objectives
  • Working with the Maintenance Manager to ensure Preventative Maintenance tasks are scheduled and completed on time and developing scope for major turnarounds
  • Implementing Management system ISO9001, ISO14001 system to the team
  • Identify areas for improvement from the productivity report, developing ways to improve quality and reduce cost.
ProfileThis role is suited to a Production Manager or a Lead Process Engineer looking to take on more responsibility. The successful applicant will have experience within an equipment-centric manufacturing operation (ideally chemical or oil & gas) with prior supervisory/managementexperience as well as the following:
  • Ideally a Technical/Engineering degree (Chemical or Mechanical)
  • The ability to motivate & encourage a team to reach defined KPIs
  • Strong HSE awareness & an understanding of regulations
  • Good written & verbal communication skills
