Job Description

Product OwnerWorking as part of a team and reporting to the Head of Sales this pivotal role will ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet the expectations of customers and enable the business to achieve its growth potential.

  • Job Type: Permanent position
  • Location: Birmingham, although remote working is available
  • Salary: £40,000 with excellent benefits
  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5:30PM
As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for:
  • Providing the link between all internal and external customers, including any third-party regarding business requirements and software functionality
  • Management of the Product Backlog, ensuring visibility to all relevant parties
  • Working closely and in regular communication (daily) with the developers and testers to provide input on any requirement queries and to review progress
  • Participate in all aspects of the agile development process including daily scrum stand-ups, retrospectives, product demonstrations, management/prioritisation of the product backlog as well as producing the end of sprint demos
  • Determine and assess feasibility and risk of requirements and be able to produce business case justifications to backup recommendations
  • Translate requirements into user stories via regular refinement sessions
  • Handle customer and staff product related enquiries that come into the R&D department

  • Commercially aware with the ability to articulate return on investment for projects undertaken.
The successful Product Owner will have the following related skills / experience:
  • Experience of the software development environment such as interfacing with developers and testers
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities in a pressurised environment.
  • Demonstrable evidence of analysing and documenting complex business processes.
  • Results orientated with excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to build relationships and work effectively with others at all levels across the business in person, by phone and on email, including proven experience interacting directly with end users
  • Experience of writing user stories
  • Experience of building product road maps & release planning
