Job Description

Ocean Product Co -OrdinatorLocation: BirminghamSalary: Competitive (37.5 hours)Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pmGrafton Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a global leader within the Supply Chain Sector, Logistics and Transport who are now looking for an Ocean Product Co-Ordinator to join their expanding Birmingham based team.Working as part of the Ocean Product team, the Product Co-Ordinator is responsible for the daily support of the company network and Ocean Product Manager by providing pricing for a high-quality service at the lowest possible cost.Responsibility as an Ocean Product Co-Ordinator:

  • Provide technical knowledge / support to the business and network.
  • Quote all requests for spot shipments & tenders from the company network.
  • Support Product Manager with monthly KPI reports as agreed.
  • Inform pricing updates to relevant support teams for WWICs, CargoWise-1, etc.
  • Support the Ocean Product team in achieving its respective business objectives in the most efficient and effective way possible.
  • Corrective Actions - identify & implement changes in process to improve overall company performance.
  • Ensure all activities are made in accordance with industry best practice, ISO, standard operating procedures, regulatory compliance and H & S.
  • Complete local, regional, and global tender pricing received by the UK Tender / Product team, looping in Sales Owners & Branch teams for existing & target UK accounts.
  • Analyse data and information to guide commercial decisions
  • Participate in projects improving processes and competitiveness
  • Identify and transfer sales leads from the network to appropriate sales teams.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with Sales and Branch teams to ensure quotation is accurate, speedy, and reflective of the UK service offering.
  • Collect market & pricing feedback for improvement of new customer sales and margin on existing customers.
  • Backup and support Ocean Product team members during peaks and absences.
The successful an Ocean Product Co-Ordinator will have the fallowing skills and experience:
  • Experience in freight forwarding and logistics industry
  • High level of MS Excel and numeracy skills
  • Good knowledge of freight products & operational processes (import and export, air and sea)
  • Good communication / telemarketing and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic approach to work at all times
  • Able to plan and prioritise workloads is essential.
