Your new roleHighways Englands business model uses our supply chain to deliver the majority of services to the strategic road network so it is essential we have the right contract models in place for successful delivery and effective spending of tax payers money.This role will see you supporting work to develop contracting strategies to meet the requirements of the delivery divisions of Highways England. This is an active and varied role where you will utilise your relationship skills to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support the development of tender and contract documents, carry out assurance of the end to end procurement process and provide ongoing support and training on contractual issues.An understanding of the Procurement life cycle including Public Contract Regulations is important as you will be interfacing with a range of stakeholders to offer support to colleagues throughout the process. The role would suit an individual with great attention to detail and the ability to manage data as you will also be responsible for producing / maintaining complex documents, spreadsheets and management reports to inform the decision making of the wider team.This is an excellent role in our organisation offering professional development as well as the opportunity to support an integral procurement activity that directly impacts Highways England imperatives. If you want to be part of the team that is helping to procure the country’s largest ever roads investment programme, then we want to hear from you!What you’ll be doing• Contributing to contract development via an ongoing review of internal and external influences, maintenance, support and continuous improvement based on feedback.• Contributing to the development, communication and implementation of best practice tools, procedures and processes needed to deliver best value.• Contributing to the assurance of procurement processes and tender documents to ensure contract documents are robust and meet business needs.• Managing reporting, resources; planning; forecasting; and monitoring against budget to inform decision making.• Establishing and maintaining proactive business support to deliver informed reporting and accurate transactions with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective flow of reporting and information.To be successful•You will have an awareness of and use of contracts •You will have an understanding of and use of Public Contract Regulations with knowledge of the wider procurement cycle and its application to business need• You will be proficient in a range of office software products to enable production / maintenance of a range of complex documents, spreadsheets and management reports•You will have a strong track record of delivering outcomes and achievements in a customer focussed organisation•You will have the ability to successfully engage and influence key stakeholders from across an organisation.It would be nice if you also had• A Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Diploma - we offer the opportunity to become CIPS qualified through our bespoke training programme so a willingness to become qualified is a must!A bit about usThere’s never been a better time to join our Commercial and Procurement team.
