Principal Ornithologist - Birmingham Ref BR00042Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + benefitsAn exciting opportunity has become available for a talented and experienced enthusiastic Ornithologist to join a world-leading, multidisciplinary consultancy with an enviable track-record of delivering a wide-range of cutting-edge energy transition projects,as well as an impressive, more traditional infrastructure schemes. The team can proudly say that their work makes a real-world difference, delivering innovative sustainable solutions across renewables, recycling, education, defence and commercial. Workingfrom the vibrant Birmingham office, you will get to contribute to, and support the delivery of, a number of exciting infrastructure projects across the UK.In order to be considered for this Principal Ornithologist role, you will:

  • Be qualified to degree level in Ecology or a relevant environmental subject.
  • Have extensive experience working as an Ornithologist.
  • Have experience in a technical lead role, with a demonstrate track record of successful project delivery, from bid stage through to closure.
  • Have full membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management is preferred.
Working as a Principal Ornithologist you will be acting as ornithology technical lead for a range of projects. Your responsibilities will include the technical review of documents, the provision of technical advice to clients, liaison with consultees, andthe production of EcIA and HRA reports. Additionally, you will act as ornithology task manager for major infrastructure / DCO projects, ensuring the successful delivery of survey programmes, the accurate collation and presentation of data, technical reviewsof baseline reports, and the provision of key information to the technical lead.
