Job Description

This will allow us to take better decisions with data and to act on them in an automated way across all our customer interactions.Data driven automation and decision making has never been more important to BT. It will allow us to create the best personal experiences for all our customers across our outbound, inbound assisted and digital channels. This chapter will create a new data capability for Consumer, overseeing the data architecture, tooling and frameworks our engineers and data scientists work with to build and deploy capability, the way we source our data and join it together and it will oversee the quality and availability of that data too.This Chapter will also lead in the design, build and continual optimisation of the data products and solutions we create, to deliver personalisation at scale.Data has never been more important to BT, and this role is central to making sure that data is available in the right place at the right time. We’re on a mission to migrate to the cloud and join up our data tech across our brands.This role will make sure that our Consumer data layers, products and services are designed to be joined up with the tools and systems that bring personalised experience right to our customers.You will be responsible for designing our data and analytics platforms within BT Consumer. You will own the reviewing of design elements and signing off on the overall technical design, working in close collaboration with our Technology partners.You will be responsible for ensuring that our data systems accurately meet the defined expectations of the business. You will take new requirements from our squads and make sure our architecture is joined up. You will be on an ongoing mission to optimise and simplify our architecture.Youll have the following responsibilities

  • Partner with the Enterprise Architecture team on the creation of the conceptual architecture that addresses the high-level business requirements.
  • Partner with domain leaders and IT business partners to drive data platform and data product adoption in our business
  • Define cloud data platform products and usage patterns across data solutions e.g. Data Science Sandbox, Marketing technology, ETLs, APIs, integration etc.
  • Collaboratively develop platform product principles (e.g. ETL, etc.) and validate solutions architecture for adherence to principle and standards
  • Evaluate and identify specifications, best practices, integration and proper use of cloud services as they relate to overall data platform and marketing technology
  • Lead standard-setting and architecture and ensures successful evolution and adherence to these within project
  • Youll have the following skills & experience
  • Designing Data platforms products and services for user consumption across several user personas (Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Analysts)
  • Providing data architecture solutions for Cloud applications and data migration to cloud based environments
  • Knowledge of complex data structures and the ability enhance the data to be integrated across the business
  • Conceptual knowledge of data and analytics, such as dimensional modelling, ETL, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data
  • Knowledge of marketing technologies such as Adobe Experience Cloud and Pega
  • Excellent communicator, able to explain, persuade and justify decisions and concepts to people at all levels
  • Technically very hands on while comfortable guiding the organisations data strategy
