Job Description

A great opportunity has arisen for a Principal Bridge Engineer to join our Structures team within Kier Design Solutions to work on Highways Structures Maintenance and Major Projects Design around the country based in Birmingham. Your role will be toundertakeservices within an engineering environment which may include (but are not limited to); scheme investigation, site and structure inspections, data collection and analysis, feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, preparation of tender documents,works/construction inspection and supervision to progress scheme design, development and construction. Connecting roads, connecting people.Location:Birmingham- remote working available, with travel to the officeContract: Permanent, FulltimeSalary: £48k - £52kResponsibilitiesThe Principal Engineer willmanage and be responsible for the delivery of technical outputs of projects or a project portfolio to the meet the clients brief within time and budget. To line manage more junior members of staff.Your day to day will include:

  • Carrying out the checking and certifying of design deliverables (including drawings specifications, professional skill and care certificates, reports and contract documents)
  • Authorising where appropriate
  • Managing a team.
Who are we looking forThis role of Principal Bridge Engineer is great for you to have:
  • Chartered / incorporated member of a relevant professional institution (MICE/MIStructE or equivalent)
  • In-depth experience in inspection, assessment, design and construction of highway structures to UK standards
  • Valid driving licence
