Press Setter / Operator (Stampings)Birmingham, West MidlandsOur client is a leading global supplier of precious metals in gold, silver, platinum and palladium alloys. They are the UKs largest one-stop shop for the jewellery maker.Based in the Production department reporting to the Team Leader, you will ensure stamped products are manufactured to the agreed quality standards, time scale and budget costs to meet company and customer requirements.In return, our client will provide you with on the job training, guidance and the support you need to build on your existing expertise.Your duties will include:- Setting and operating blanking and forming presses such as fly and hydraulic presses- Identifying and reporting problems and/or machine faults to the Team Leader- Ensuring all previous metal in your control and/or work area is treated with respect- Providing support to other production departments if requiredThe successful candidate will have:- Experience in setting power presses (from 3 to 300 tons)- Experience with progression tooling and single op tools- Experience in the setting of fly presses and jigs- Be able to use measuring instruments, Vernier, micrometer and slip gauges- ROSPA qualified preferredHours of work:Total 37.5 hours per week, working a pattern of Monday to Thursday 07.30-16.00 with a 30 minute lunch break, Friday 07.30-13.00.
