Job Description

Medical Practice Team LeaderSouth West Birmingham / EdgbastonSalary £20,980 - £25,35037.5 hour weekA lively, modern and well established teaching practice as well as an excellent general practice and nursing provision, this practices services also include hub, physiotherapy, phlebotomy and minor surgery along with specialist clinics for conditions such as asthma and diabetes along with 20 clinical rooms available on site.A family friendly staff team consisting of 6 partners, 3 salaried GPs, 20 admin / secretarial and nursing staff, they also have around 13,000 patients. This practice is known for its modern, progressive approach to both the provision of patient care and support for their staff / team. Innovative and taking great pride in everything they do theyre rated Good by CQC.To enable the practice to grow and develop, they are looking for the an experienced Team Leader to join their management team:The purpose of the Team Leader:As part of the Management Team, assist the Business Manager in the smooth and efficient running of the practice, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligationsKEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*Assist the Business Manager in the efficient running of the practice.*Provide excellent first line management and offer leadership to the staff team. *Ensure the provision of a high quality support service to the Business Manger without direct supervision, working within procedural guidelines*Be responsible for key areas of the practice, including QOF, Governance and Work flow.*Ensure that the practice provides quality care for patients and demonstrates a high regard for staff welfare.*Monitor compliance with practice policies, supporting staff to work in a healthy and safe manner.*Improve and maintain standards across a wide range of clinical and administrative activities.Amongst other things, we are looking for someone who has:*Good standard of general education, including English and Math*Administration / IT qualification, such as NVQ 3, City & Guilds 2, CLAIT*GCSE English level C and above*GCSE Math level C and above*Team Leader / Management qualification or significant working experience and willing to train in 1 yearYou will need experience of:*Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.*Demonstrate excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.*Flexible, adaptable and self-motivated.*All aspects of people leadership, including supervision and performance management.*Undertaking a wide range of administrative duties using various software packages, including EMIS and excel.*Experience of Work Flow Process.*Demonstrating compliance with good governance.*Monitoring compliance with contractual obligations and taking remedial action.In return you will receive an excellent remuneration package, staff uniform, comprehensive induction and regular supervision.
