Job Description

Power BI Specialist - Birmingham City Centre based 1/2 days in office £35K - £45K DOEPurpose of Job/Key objectives To take lead the data analytics and database management for the organisation. You will work in partnership with stakeholders from a variety of internal teams to create and deliver MI reports, dashboards, and solutions. You will be involved in the productionof a portfolio of reports, ad-hoc analysis, and projects that will help the business make better data-led decisions and streamline processes. On top of generating business insights and presenting analysis findings, you will aim to challenge the status quoby introducing new perspectives and innovative thinking to drive new methods and you will represent the finance team in a variety of interesting projects.You will need:

• 3+ years as a Power BI Developer or Analyst with a strong track record of designing and developing Power BI solutions.
• Experience in data modelling, visualization and report development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
• Proficiency in Power BI, including advanced Power Query.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large, complex datasets.
• Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data integration.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights concisely.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• A proactive and positive can do attitude and self motivated.
• Foster a data-driven culture within the organisation by promoting the use of data and analytics in decision-making processes.

Tasks / Responsibiltieis

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to comprehend their requirements, translating them into effective solutions using MS Power BI to meet the business needs.
• Design and develop data models, queries, visualizations and interactive dashboards that effectively communicate data insights and support decision-making.
• Perform thorough data analysis to derive insights that contribute to enhanced business performance.
• Ensure data accuracy, quality, and integrity within Power BI solutions.
• Optimize and enhance existing Power BI reports, data models and dashboards for improved performance and user experience; customise visualisations and utilise DAX functions to optimise report performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Provide end-user support, training and guidance on Power BI usage, functionality, and best practices.
• and employ data mining methods to identify opportunities for organizational improvement.
• Provide input in the continuous improvement of the data analytics frameworks, processes, and methodologies to ensure accurate data collection, analysis and interpretation as well as reliability, governance and scale develop and maintain documentation includinguser guides and best practices
• Conduct thorough testing of developed solutions to ensure accuracy and reliability. Address and resolve any data discrepancies or quality issues in a timely manner.
