Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a National Financial Planning practice that are looking to recruit a Paraplanner for their Birmingham office. This role can be based from home 2/3 days a week. The ideal candidate will be Level 4 qualified and have experinced as a Paraplanner within a Financial Planning practice.PurposeTo provide high-quality technical research support to Advisers and produce research that aligns with the client’s identified aims and objectives. To support in the production of the written advice issued to the client whilst maintaining the companys excellent client service scores.Responsibilities

  • Assist with the creation of financial planning reports by providing the research to meet the needs of our high net worth client’s
  • Provide comprehensive analysis of products, providers, platforms, and funds to identify ongoing suitability for the client
  • Present the research to the Adviser in a clear and concise manner within service standards
  • Prepare complex calculations and research such as Annual & Lifetime Allowance, Carry Forward, Capital Gains Tax and Bond & IHT calculations
  • Support Advisers with preparing high quality, clear, compliant, and technically accurate client written advice, often complex in nature
  • Prepare cashflow forecasts across a broad range of financial planning scenarios
  • Realign a client’s risk profile
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to the technical administration team
  • Liaise with Technical Administrators and, where necessary, providers to identify and obtain information to compile research to support the Advisers recommendations
  • Liaise with and seek additional technical advice from the Risk Management Team where necessary
  • Identify and escalate opportunities to improve efficiencies in working practices
  • Undertake work of a project-based nature as and when required to do so. E.g. MiFID II disclosure
  • Experience
  • A detailed knowledge of pensions, investments, tax efficient savings and protection related products and services
  • The ability to apply internal and/or regulatory standards as specified in procedural manuals and handbooks
  • The ability to understand detailed fund research and demonstrate an interest to keep abreast of industry regulations and changes
  • A minimum of 5-years’ Financial Services industry experience - in particular in a financial planning, research or technical capacity
  • A proven track record in providing high quality research and report writing support
  • Experience of FE Analytics, Adviser Asset, Cashflow modelling & XPLAN/ IRESS is desirable
  • Person Requirements

  • An exceptional researcher with superb analytical skills and able to demonstrate high attention to detail
  • Proactive and positive in your approach to your work and be able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure
  • Excellent at planning and organising your work and able to work to tight timescales
  • Solution focused and able to adapt to changing demands and priorities and manage your workload
  • Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products, in particular, Microsoft Excel
