Job Description

Job Title: Outreach NavigatorJob Type: TemporaryLocation: BirminghamIndustry: Social Care - Homelessness In this Outreach Navigator opportunity in Birmingham, you will join a charity helping young people, between the ages of 16-25, gain access to temporary accommodation as a result of being homeless. The role will be supporting young people witha history of rough sleeping transition Into their own tenancy and provide long term tenancy support .Key responsibilities In this Outreach Navigator job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertake detailed assessments of housing and support needs /risks for rough sleepers
  • Ensure relevant background checks are complete to assess support plans
  • Provide high quality homeless and housing options - ensuring expectations are managed
  • Build and maintain effective and professional working relationships with external partners/agencies
  • Safeguard young people and young adults as risk though appropriate escalation and reporting Incidents
  • Actively encourage young people to move Into appropriate accommodation
Skills & experience of an Outreach Navigator.
  • Proven track record of working In a outreach or similar positions - genuine passion to work with vulnerable rough sleepers
  • Holds an enhanced DBS child and adult cleared - Issued In the last 12 months or on the update service
  • Available to start asap
  • Flexible to work over evenings / weekends when required
