National Account Manager - DIY and Building Trade DistributorsJob Title: National Account Manager - DIY and Building Trade DistributorsIndustry Sector: DIY, Sheds, Builders Merchants, Decorating Centres, Large Retailers, Paint Merchants, Online Retailers, Ladders, Fall Protection, Scaffolding and Stages, Van and Truck Racks, Truck Ramps, Van Storgae, Wheelbarrows, Truck Boxes, Storage Casesand AccessoriesArea to be covered: NationalRemuneration: £40,000 - £45,000 + up to £15,000 BonusBenefits: Fully expensed car & full benefitsThe role of the National Account Manager - DIY and Building Trade Distributors will involve:

  • Field sales position selling a manufactured and distributed range of access products, storage systems, fall protection and light duty construction equipment
  • National Account Management role, responsible for approx 7 customer accounts
  • Building relationships and generating new revenue from customers such as; Jewson, Dulex Decorating Centres and Ladderstore
  • Support and drive promotional activity to increase sales
  • Support and drive marketing activity and new product initiatives
  • Targeted to achieve circa £1.5m-£2m
  • Inhering customer accounts that are currently underperforming but with huge potential
  • Resolving customer issues and complaints
  • Follow up and convert new sales leads
  • Drive and maintain all activity via Salesforce.com
The ideal applicant will be a National Account Manager - DIY and Building Trade Distributors with:
  • Key account management experience within DIY, building trade distributors, retail accounts, paint merchants and Online retailers (ideally within national chains with multiple sales channels)
  • Ability to influence customers at all levels (buyers, directors, branch managers etc.)
  • Ideally contacts within: DIY, building trade distributors, retail accounts, paint merchants and Online retailers
  • Specific knowledge of access products, storage systems, fall protection and light duty construction equipment is not essential
  • Minimum 3 year national account management experience (knows how to range review, understands GAP analysis etc.)
  • Must have sold construction products
  • Driven, target focussed and a team player
  • Analytical thinker
  • Ability to travel extensively across the UK/ comfortable with occasional over night stays
