Job Description

Mental Health Support WorkerAn exciting position has become available for a full-time Mental Health Support Worker based in Birmingham. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary.On occasion, the employees job description may be changed with a notice period of 3 months.Role Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care.
  • A DBS is required for this role.
  • A Driving License is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a support worker.
  • Able to work using own initiative.
  • Excellent timekeeping and organisational skills.
  • High standard of written and spoken communication.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
Role Responsibilities
  • Actively seek to assist residents in achieving their support objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, supporting their individual needs as and when required.
  • Encourage and motivate residents regarding personal hygiene generally, and specifically at the start of their day.
  • Encourage service users to comply with their support plans regarding their personal environment, laundry and health and safety.
  • Provide updates to enable review of assessments and support plans on a regular basis including daily input on reports for all residents.
  • Encourage resident involvement, in all aspects of their environment.
  • Motivate residents to attend community activities.
  • Remind and encourage residents to take medication, maintaining the prescribed intervals and dosage.
  • Check on residents at the beginning and the end of each day.
  • Support residents to prepare and cook meals observing health and safety measures and ensure residents are supported to keep kitchens clean and tidy for the use of other residents.
  • Support residents when attending outside agency appointments.
  • Report any concerns to management regarding health or wellbeing of residents.
  • Complete weekly health and safety checks and document results including fire drills.
  • Study and comply with Accommodation policies and procedures.
  • Support all members of the team.
