Job Description

Greycoat Lumleys are seeking an Adolescent Mental Health Nurse (term time only) for an Independent School in Worcestershire.This role will require the successful candidate to support pupils in a residential boarding environment with emotional or mental health needs. The person will provide a range of high-quality care appropriate to the child or young persons needs which will include; mental state assessment, risk assessment and management, family and social assessment, consultation and interventions.Duties:

  • Carry out assessment and develop a plan for intervention in collaboration with the child, young person and parents/careers and communicating this to all relevant professionals
  • Ensure that the perspective of children, young people and families is incorporated into all aspects of assessment and treatment
  • To actively participate in regular clinical supervision
  • To attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings, multi-agency and professional meetings as required
  • To keep accurate records of all care provided to patients
  • Work with teaching staff and the DSL to identify and act to safeguard pupils at risk of harm
  • Uphold medical confidentially in line with legal duty of confidentially to pupils and maintain medical records accurately
  • Contribute to the delivery of School emergency plans including a response to mental health issues
  • Maintain and improve professional knowledge to keep up to date with professional, clinical and nursing issues relevant to work in schools
  • Contribution to the provision of health care education to the pupils if required
