Job Description

They offer fabulous engineering and manufacturing apprenticeships, that are deliveredfrom their amazing facilities in Aston, Birmingham.The RoleI am seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join as an Instructor/ Tutor/ Lecturer. Based in Aston, Birmingham you will teaching up to level HNC level 4. If you possess a Level 3 teacher training qualification already then that would be fantastic,but if you dont, you will be supported to become a qualified tutor, adding another string to your bow.The core working hours are Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm and Friday 8am to 1.30pm, with 22.5hrs teaching time a week. The maximum class size will consist of 12 - 18 learners.Main purpose of the role: To monitor and assess learners, ensuring they have access and opportunity to achieve the qualifications in their learning plans Coordinate and manage the process of learning, assessment and verification through National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) Manage the achievement of learners Assess learners progress by various means and provide feedback and progress reports To provide learners, colleagues, parents and employers with timely, accurate and constructive feedback on learners achievement, progress and areas for development Liaise with other training providers /sub-contractors to ensure successful completion of NVQ, Functional Skills and Technical Certificate, as appropriate. To ensure the health and safety of learners and staff and carry out Health and Safety auditsExperience and Skills Required: Time served apprenticeship, or a relevant Level 4 qualification, or a skill-specific NVQ Level 3, or the equivalent/higher - essential within Mechanical Engineering Assessor qualification would be beneficial but is not essential - such as TAQA, A1, V1, D32, D33 Level 3 teacher training qualification would also be beneficial but isnt essential Ability to be empathetic to learners and motivate them to achieve success An ability to plan, and deliver training and assess outcomes Leadership and people development skills Excellent presentation and communication skillsReward and BenefitsOn offer is a competitive salary, company Pension scheme, wellness scheme, 26 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, on-site parking and an early finish on a Friday!
