Job Description

The role represents an excellent opportunity for a Simulation & Modelling Engineer to join an established team developing a range of complex models, applications and best in class tools to simulate differing design scenarios to support business planning.Suitable candidates will be numerically driven and passionate about applying your technical capabilities to develop, configure and expand the capabilities of the modelling tools that help solve problems. A background developing models and applications usingMATLAB, Python or Simulink is ideal, but working knowledge of other industry leading tools will be considered. Above all you will be project driven, comfortable working in cross functional environment and have the with the ability prioritise and organize workloads,and schedules.Selection of responsibilities:

  • Development and application of simulation tools to solve a range of coupled mathematical problems.
  • Play a key role in delivering scientific & engineering orientated consultancy using simulation tools and applications
  • Focus on the development and research of machine learning solutions and algorithms to support longer term research programmes
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to understanding underlying requirements (i.e. business analysis & requirements gathering)
Selection of skills:
  • MSc in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics Deep with 2+ years mathematical / simulation modelling experience or PhD
  • Experience working with large datasets and cloud computing services
  • A good understanding of simulation environments (e.g. MATLAB and Simulink, or similar) and programming languages (e.g. Python, FORTRAN, C/C++).
  • Ability to identify and solve sophisticated problems and gather the information needed to drive through to ultimate solutions.
  • Ability to visualise and analyse complex systems.
  • Working as part of a team and individually
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
As well as gaining in-depth knowledge of the simulation design and functionality of the organisations complex systems k, this role will give you in-depth exposure to the Modelling tools and process (such as MATLAB/SIMULINK) and the opportunity to developrelevant skills and apply them in developing large scale models to support an exciting portfolio of productsBirmingham city centre location (2 day per week office commitment)£40,000 - £50,000 + package*Please note that at this time the organisation are unable to provide UK visa sponsorship*
