Job Description

I am working with a national not for profit sports organisation based in North Birmingham who is urgently looking for a permanent Management Accountant for an immediate start . The organisation is a national and international leader in sports governance and the successful candidate will have a front rowseat to major sporting events.The main duties of the role are :

  • Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place, adhered to, verified and necessary action taken.
  • Ensure control accounts are reconciled and reviewed on a monthly basis and appropriate, timely actions taken.
  • Maintain accounting package with emphasis on the general ledger and the chart of accounts and associated documentation.
  • Monitor Debt position and act to ensure overdue debts are minimised.
  • Prepare accurate, timely and comprehensive Management Reports Pack on a monthly basis for review by the Head of Financial Control (HoFC).
  • Identify, interpret and explain all material variances and escalate any issues promptly.
  • Use and develop the current reporting suite to maximise quality & efficiency.
  • Carry out monthly closedown of the ledgers with the appropriate checks.
  • Support finance staff, budget holders and other users, providing training and assistance as required.

The role will pay from £34k to £38k dependant on experience. This is a hybrid role with four days working at home and one day in the office.
