Job Description

Walters People have partnered with a leading business based in Birmingham who are looking for a Management Accountant on a permanent basis. The role would best suit a confident individual who can work independently, demonstrating a high level of initiative,paying up to £38,000 based on experience.Walters People have partnered with a leading business based in Birmingham who are looking for a Management Accountant on a permanent basis. The role would best suit a confident individual who can work independently, demonstrating a high level of initiative,paying up to £38,000 based on experience.Key Responsibilities as the Management Accountant:

  • Timely and accurate preparation of monthly management accounts in line with reporting standards
  • Meet finance timetable deadlines for all assigned tasks and provided support to other areas where necessary
  • Ensure revenue and expenses are correctly reflected monthly
  • Maintaining and reconciling control accounts
  • Reviewing and managing purchase order requests
  • Preparation of key financial information used to prepare monthly reports to management within
  • Responsibility for oversight of journal postings
  • Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet
  • KPI analysis to assist with monthly management commentary
  • Preparation of quarterly UK VAT returns within deadlines
  • Preparing and reviewing detailed P&L and Balance Sheet supporting schedules and reports
  • Processing and recording credit card payments
  • Assist with audit preparation work to allow for timely completion of annual financial statements
  • Work closely with the teams to drive operational and cost efficiencies/savings
  • Prepare and carry out variance analysis monthly
About you as the Management Accountant:
  • Relevant accounting experience in a finance department
  • Experience of using Sage X3 beneficial but not essential
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Good Excel knowledge
  • Good Communications skills and ability to partner with wider business
