Job title: Management Accountant Location: Remote Duration: 6 months initially The Role:The Management Accountant ensures the production of timely and accurate monthly management accounts for Opex, with clear and visible reporting, insight and follow up action. The role must liaise closely with and support all UK Operations departments to ensurea full understanding and accurate representation of the Business, close control of expenditure and smooth robust planning cycles.Responsibilities: Responsible for accurate P&L and Balance sheet postings and reconciliations for Opex costs across UK Operations, always achieving or beating deadlines. Provide consistent, simple, and accurate monthly management information and reporting to allow senior management to monitor expenditure performance, understand variances, and support them in taking actions. Responsibility for monthly Budget Review Meetings with cost centre owners, ensuring tight control over costs and suggesting and supporting action plans to improve performance. Develop and maintain regular, high-quality communication with Cost Centre Managers and Directors to ensure key cost information is well understood, and forecasts and budgets are prepared, challenged and reviewed in line with the Group FP&A planning timetable.2 of 3 Deliver information and support the FP&A team with the annual budgeting and reforecasting cycle. Responsible for maintenance of budgets, budget owners and approval levels in all relevant systems (incl Maximo, Planful). To be consolidated over time. Support the Procurement team in identification of opportunities within the cost base and helping to deliver a best practice procure to pay process. Monitor headcount vs plan and working with HR & payroll to ensure adherence to the J.M.L process in UK Operations. Support the drive for consistency, simplicity, and automation of Opex processes and reporting. Support the development and use of the Planful system across the Group. Liaise with internal and external auditors offering explanations and assistance in all areas of their investigation and to ensure audit points are addressed and rectified in a timely manner.Requirements: Fully qualified with a professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) Experience in an accounting role in a medium/large company environment. Financial systems and planning tools experience (such as Planful) and a demonstratable commitment to simplification and automation of processes. Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Highly motivated with good communication skills Ability to develop good working relationships at all levels within and outside the organisation. Strong time management skills, always hitting deadlines. High level of personal integrity and professionalism. An excellent team player. Ability to meet demanding deadlines and adapt quickly to changing business need.
