Job Description

Maintenance EngineerFull time, PermanentDouble Day Shift positionBased in Witton Job Summary/Environment You will be working in a machine shop environment looking after complex CNC Machines including both Milling and Turning Machines (Doosan & Matsuura experience would be advantageous). Also, you will be responsible for general maintenance and facilities duties throughout the working day. ResponsibilitiesDuties will include but not be limited to: -

  • Ensuring maximum availability of mechanical equipment
  • Reactionary maintenance activities for both CNC and Conventional machines.
  • Execute planned maintenance activities, and ensure operators are carrying out autonomous maintenance checks.
  • Participation in TPM events.
  • Carry out detailed evaluation of workshop equipment to ensure they are in good condition.
  • General facilities maintenance.
  • Co-ordinate with external service providers such as alarms / air conditioning and ensure they are working safely on site.
  • Carry out electrical installations and testing of equipment.
  • Maintaining air compressors.
  • Ensure HV sub station is maintained and in good working order.
  • Ensure security and emergency devices such as alarms, doors and CCTV are in good working order and serviced.
  • Participating in cross functional teams
  • Performing any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested
  • Qualifications, Experience & Personal Characteristics
  • Strong experience in electrical and general maintenance.
  • Excellent working knowledge of manufacturing systems, machining, assembly and test.
  • Experience in maintenance of machines in a Precision Engineering manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Deliver results – create momentum and pace to drive results.
  • Working well under pressure and engaging at all levels of the organisation both internally and externally.
  • Determined to overcome unexpected obstacles to get to the right solution.
  • Delivers on promises, do what they say they will do, when they say they will do it.
