Linux and Network Infrastructure Engineer - Birmingham - Up to £70KThis AI consultancy company leverages technology to drive innovation and growth. They are currently looking for a seasoned Linux and Network Infrastructure Engineer with experience in infrastructure for AI workflows.This Linux and Network Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining their Linux infrastructure and network systems, with a particular focus on infrastructure for AI workflows. This Linux and Network InfrastructureEngineer will have a solid background in Linux environments, Ubuntu server on bare metal, containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, with an interest in hardware specifically GPU and related AI infrastructure.This This Linux and Network Infrastructure Engineer responsibilities are:- Design, install, configure, and maintain Linux infrastructure, with a focus on automated Ubuntu server and network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls- Develop and optimize infrastructure for AI workflows, including GPU utilization.- Implement and manage containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.- Monitor system performance and ensure system availability and reliability.- Troubleshoot network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.- Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access.- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.- Provide technical support and guidance to developers.- Document network infrastructure and maintain a comprehensive layout of networks and systems.This This Linux and Network Infrastructure Engineer will have: - At least 5 years of experience in Linux infrastructure engineering.- At least 5 years of experience in Network administration.- Proven work experience as a Linux and Network Infrastructure Engineer.- Solid experience with bare metal Ubuntu server installation and configuration.- Experience in developing and optimizing infrastructure for AI workflows.- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, etc.- Understanding and experience managing GPU usage for AI.- Proficient with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.- Strong knowledge of Linux OS, system security, and network management.- Experience with network protocols, network administration, and monitoring tools.- Experience with AWS is a preferable.If you’re the Linux and Network Infrastructure Engineer we’re looking for please get in touch quoting AP1062.Please also visit www.air-recruitment.com
