Job Description

Our client is looking for an In-house Legal Counsel / Commercial Lawyer to join their highly regarded legal team for a six-month fixed term contract. There is the potential for this opportunity to go permanent at the end of the contract term.Based in Birmingham this is a varied role involving drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements. You will also be advising and assisting the business on a wide range of other legal matters.Hybrid Working Opportunity - The head office is based in Birmingham, but they would consider candidates who can come into the office one to two days a month. If candidates wanted to work in the office more that too is possible.The ideal candidate:

  • A strong grounding in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, particularly SaaS contracts
  • Able to work in a busy in-house legal department and provide day to day commercial advice to all departments within the business
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate legal issues in a business-friendly way and influence key stakeholders
  • Able to effectively manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectation
  • A UK qualified solicitor with strong academics with at least 2 years PQE
