The Legal Team is its global lead for all legal matters and will provide legal leadership to Islamic Relief Worldwide at a time of growth, as well as an increasingly complex regulatory and humanitarian environment.The Legal Team is central to supporting IRWs CEO, the Trustees and Executive Board in advising and managing legal risks that IRW faces. The Legal Team is part of the Office of the General Counsel, a division that includes legal, governance, policy and compliance,whistleblowing and complaints, safeguarding and Data Protection.This is an exciting opportunity to work in an international, dynamic and fast-paced legal team which is at the heart of its international relief and development efforts helping the most in need across the world.JOB PURPOSE:To provide legal advice to the organisation, both directly and through external lawyers, to ensure that the organisation assesses and addresses the legal implications of its operations with the purpose of helping the organisation to be as effective as possiblein achieving its objectives, vision and mission. The Legal Counsel will support the General Counsel to manage legal risk and oversee global legal issues that affect the family of organisations.The work of the legal team covers a broad range of areas and requires someone who can use their legal skills and apply them to all aspects of legal and compliance work within an international charity.
