Job Description

Learning Development Specialist - mat leave cover, 6-12 month contractWe have a rare opportunity for a 6-12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave in the HR team at Ground Control as a Learning Development Specialist.The overall remit of this role is to manage the Training Matrix and LMS platform.You will use your technical skills and creativity to provide the whole of Ground Control with Learning and Development solutions to meet the needs of individuals, divisions and clients through internal, external and eLearning methods. You will design engaging E-learning materials using Articulate Storyline and therefore deliver creative L&D solutions via our GC Learning LMS platform.You will engage with stakeholders and divisional leaders to understand requirements, whilst influencing the style and method of delivery depending on business priorities, learner needs and demands.In addition, you will own and manage the administration of the Training Matrix, which will utilise your IT skills daily, whilst responding to urgent reporting requests with tight deadlines on a regular basis.Overall responsibilities cover the following 5 areas;1.Gatekeeper of the Training Matrix administration including;Conducting yearly reviews with divisional heads for the field team (subcontractor) matrixes, updating the Matrix accordinglyAdding new course assignments and client requirements throughout the yearCollaborating with ICT, Field Team Support and Operations Support teams to improve the Matrix and handle technical issues/errorsAdding any new operatives to teams in Team Manager2. Reporting including;Provide training reports (from Training Manager Matrix) to Business Development for Tenders & Accreditations and to HSQE in the event of an incident3. Management of Training bookings including;Training and managing your Coordinator to complete training bookings using processes to ensure bookings are prioritised based on urgency and completed in a timely manner, looking to constantly improve efficiency and productivity.4. Management of e learning platform including;Overall responsibility for management and content on the LMS system and creation of content, which includes research both internally and externally, arranging filming and editing video where appropriate, uploading to LMS system or creating materials for online training coursesWhat we offer;At Ground Control we believe in rewarding our employees for their hard work. Together, we’re stronger.Who are we looking forThis is a great opportunity for an existing Learning and Development Coordinator with a systems, E- learning and or compliance background to join our team at Ground Control.We would welcome applications from candidates from a variety of industries however experience within Learning and Development within Construction, Facilities and/or Utilities companies would be the most relevant to our business. Experience managing training needs and requirements for subcontractor compliance, E learning development, H&S or creating training materials would be highly beneficial.In addition, you must be able to display the following;
  • Creativity with the ability to design engaging materials, capturing appropriate content to achieve the desired outcomes
  • Project Management skills being able to work with stakeholders, influence others and work to tight deadlines
  • Being a quick learner and be able to quickly pick up Articulate & video editing / ICE 2 etc
  • Intermediate Excel skills with the ability to manipulate data in reports
  • Commerciality, you’ll need to be able to see the business priorities as well as learner needs and filed team demands
