Job Description

Lean Consultant Birmingham city centre B4- office based 6 month FTC - up to £75k pro rata Immediate startWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lean Consultant to lead the transformation of a critical back-office function.The Lean Consultant will be responsible for:

  • The completion of a thorough Lean diagnostic - analysing existing operating structures and processes, identifying bottlenecks, and assessing areas for improvement.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather data, understand pain points, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • The development of a transformation plan, utilising Lean principles and methodologies - collaborating with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
  • The coached implementation of sustainable solutions, in accordance with the transformation plan, ensuring the long-term delivery of tangible improvements
  • Monitoring progress of delivery against the transformation plan, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting on outcome delivery to senior stakeholders.
The ideal Lean Consultant will have:
  • Proven experience as a Lean Consultant with a strong background in process improvement and Lean methodologies
  • Relevant certifications in Lean Six Sigma or CI are preferred - 6 Sigma Black Belt or Lean Competency System (LCS) Level 2a / 2b
  • Deep understanding of Lean principles, tools, and techniques, including VSM, Kaizen, 5S, and waste analysis / reduction
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the firm
  • Proactive mind-set, with a drive for results and a passion for continuous improvement
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
