Job Description

Job title: Lead Engineer - ElectricalLocation: Opportunities UK wideSalary: Competitive + packageOur client is one of the UKs leaders in providing innovative construction and engineering solutions for clients within a variety of sectors including Retail, Health, Education and Commercial. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and experiencedFacilities Maintenance Engineer to join this well-established business with an impressive portfolio of clients.Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide on call cover to multiple sites and be part of the on-call rota
  • Provide technical support to the DMT
  • Ensure under performance on KPIs are understood within the teams and action plans are in place to improve performance
  • Ensure that all costs are approved following the correct company procedures
  • Check the quality of PPMs conducted by the DMTs and DMAs during site visits
  • Support the Hard Services Manager on technical, organisational and people issues
  • Provide cover for the Engineering Manager during times of absence, holidays, and meetings.
  • Carry out specified depot programme both reviews on quality and Health & Safety and act on non-compliances
  • Complete specified reports and act on any issues raised
  • Audit FM documentation and act on any non-compliances
  • Manage all Help Desk calls and ensure that the issues are resolved effectively, escalating where necessary to the appropriate management level in City and Co-op
  • Attend Project, Trial, Pre-start meetings when appropriate, ensuring adequate support from others on specialist issues.
  • Attend meetings in the absence of the Engineering Manager
  • Regularly communicate with the Co-op depot team on all FM activity.
  • Complete and monitor all necessary reports on the performance of team members and take action on unsatisfactory performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • City & Guilds/NVQ Electrical or Mechanical Installation (or equivalent)
  • City & Guilds 2391 (Testing & Inspection)
  • BS7671:2018 - Wiring Regulations 18th Edition
  • CITB SSSTS (or equivalent)
  • Proven track record of supervising a team within an electrical maintenance environment.
  • Previous experience of managing/prioritising a varied/demanding workload.
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience of operating within a large-scale distribution site
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) and ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with the client.
  • Ability to engage confidently and tactfully with senior management whilst demonstrating strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to respond well to competing priorities and demands including time management and the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Knowledge of CAFM software and experience of Verisae.
