Job Description

Jnr Data AnalystI’m currently recruiting for a Junior Data Analyst to be based in South Birmingham. The company are a specialist in SaaS solutions for shipping. You will be joining a small talented team that delivers data consultancy, BI solutions web applications and integrationplatforms for the maritime industry.In this role, your daily tasks include providing data insights, using analytical and statistical tools like SQL, Power BI, R, and Python, creating innovative solutions through data analysis, designing predictive models and algorithms, promoting data bestpractices, collaborating with teams, ensuring data integrity, communicating with clients, and assisting with project requirements.This role would be ideal for a Junior Data analyst wanting a role where they will be offered training and development to move to and work as a data scientist within the company, as experience is gained.Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field, or at least 1 year of commercial data science experience.
  • Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and improve team efforts.
  • Basic SQL proficiency.
  • Applied statistics understanding.
  • Skill in expressing statistical findings through reports and dashboards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Problem-solving skills with innovative thinking.
  • Pragmatic approach to work, focusing on essential tasks under time/resource constraints.
Beneficial experience:
  • Creating BI dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Azure BI).
  • Handling Geolocation data.
  • Familiarity with R, Python, or other programming languages.
