Job Description

Are you an experienced IT Technician, with a proven track record of working within the retail industry, and of using HQ Retail Management, Warehouse WMS and Store Epos with integrated EFTThe OpportunityBased at the businesses Head Office in Birmingham, the successful applicant must be flexible and have a desire to solve problems and drive high standards.Duties of the role are:

  • Must be capable to understand causes and provide solutions for issues caused in the company related to their systems and full understanding of the apparel retail business so as to propose actionable feedback for the team.
  • Knowledge in System Administration.
  • Asset management and provisioning of company equipment.
  • Installations and key component repair where possible.
  • Proactiveness and good capability of learning new technologies and adapt to them.
  • Good team integration and the ability to help colleagues with any systems related queries or issues and develop support documentation and guidelines to facilitate technical learnings of future staff members.
  • Support the business in new projects whilst providing support for existing operations.
  • Recommend, source and procure adequate hardware and software that meet business requirements.
  • Problem solving resolutions, solve any issue documented following the procedure, do initial research if the issue not indexed, and provide information to the Systems area for future similar issues.
  • Maintenance tasks.
  • Track data to evaluate the time / cost of tasks performed, and provide plans on growing efficiency when not actively maintaining the company infrastructure.
Required Skills
  • Windows operating systems for both servers and desktop computers.
  • Hardware repairs and maintenance.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook mainly).
  • All the common system services (printers, file management etc).
  • TSQL knowledge, being able to do simple queries to investigate any database malfunction.
  • VoIP Systems.
  • Crowdstrike and Falcon AI monitoring systems.
  • Remote Desktop technologies to fix any issue in any computer or server belonging to the company Systems.
  • Networking (VPNs, WIFI APs. Routers, etc).
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in or for medium to large multi-channel Retailer with stock management and POS experience
  • To have a solid understanding of, and to be a productive part of the business operationally, in particular, retail stock management and POS. But to also understand the bigger picture as to how the different channels of the business can and should interact
  • Advanced knowledge of information technology, particularly that used by the Retail Trade in warehouses and in stores.
  • Necessary communication skills to train colleagues and interact with Management
Working Hours
  • Monday to Friday (full time) hours are 08:00 to 17:30.
Salary
  • £60,000 to £65,000 depending on epxerience
