Job Description

IT Support Engineer who has solid 1st and 2nd Line technical support skills with some 3rd Line experience is required to provide onsite technical support covering PC and Laptop Builds, Repairs, Configuration and installs is required fora well-established IT solutions company.SALARY: You can choose between the two salary options listed below:£24,000 per annum + Company Car + Fuel Card +Travel Expenses£29,000 per annum (will need to use your own vehicle) + Mileage Expenses + Travel ExpensesBENEFITS: 28 days holiday including bank holidays, company mobile phone, laptop for business purposes only, customer recognition aware, employee of the month scheme, workplace pension schemeLOCATION: This is a field-based role working in customer sites across the UK, Ireland and Europe. However, candidates must be able to commute to the head office in Dudley, West Midlands.The Job involves extensive UK travel and staying away from home when required.JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Fixed Term Contract (until the end of the year)WORKING HOURS: Core working hours are between 08:00 - 18:00, Monday to FridayPLEASE NOTE:Candidates will need a full Drivers Licence, which is essential for this role.JOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for an IT Support Engineerwho has solid 1st and 2nd Line technical support skills with some 3rd Line experience is required to provide onsite technical support covering PC and Laptop Builds, Repairs, Configurationand installs.Working as an IT Support Engineeryou will travel to one on the companys retail centres / office each day, where you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of technical duties whilst onsite.As the IT Support Engineeryou will be supporting a range of users from vehicle technicians all the way up to Heads of business.   • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with the IT Field Engineers and the project team. As well as all key internal stakeholders and customers within the business
  • Provide onsite support for all staff
  • Device builds, repairs, configuration, and installation (PC, laptop and mobile)
  • General desktop support
  • Networking and infrastructure fundamentals
  • Desk setups/moves
  • Printer support (configuration and installation n user devices)
  • Retail centre openings, closures, and relocations
  • Coms cabinet work (patching, installing equipment etc.)
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSCandidates must have experience of working in an IT deskside role. ITIL Service Management at Foundation level is desirable. You must have experience of working within a high-pressured environment, bringing a calming influence through your level of knowledge.The ideal candidate can show proven dedication to providing user satisfaction through first class service. It is essential that you can communicate clearly, accurately and patiently. You must be comfortable working under pressure and able to handle potentialconflicts and show an ability to prioritise conflicting demands whilst adhering to company policies and practices.Candidates must possess an excellent desk-side manner and be friendly, sociable and willing to work in a team environment. You should also should show willingness and ability to learn "on the job".TECHNICAL SKILLSMust have previous experience in the following:
  • Windows 10
  • Good understanding of network fundamentals
  • Supporting Desktop / Laptops
  • Mobile device support (iPads / iPhones / Android phones)
  • O365
  • Imaging/building/repairing of laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
  • Installing/configuring/managing printers
  • Good understanding of GDPR and IT security best practises.
  • Desirable experience/knowledge:
  • Hands on IT support in the automotive industry
  • Windows 11
  • Familiarity with any of the following:
  • Meraki Dashboard/switches and APs
  • WorkspaceOne (MDM)
  • 8x8 Unified Communications
