Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Head of Technical Services and Security will assist with the strategic development and deployment of the firms network infrastructure including voice and data.
  • You will manage a small team of network and security professionals
  • Ensuring the performance, reliability and security of all networks meets the standards required of a large international law firm operating in a regulated sector.
  • Define an implement the appropriate technical and security frameworks to minimise both network security risks and security threats to the firms information assets.
  • Lead, motivate and manage the performance of the Network and Security Technical Services Team
  • Maintain departmental services, including documentation of technical landscape, operating procedures, services implementation, monitoring, reporting and governance.
  • Ensure the security of both the firms network and all data/digital assets by the provision of best in class cyber security infrastructure, processes and procedures including end user best practice.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and record keeping to allow the firm to demonstrate compliance with certification authorities (eg ISO, DSS/PCI, Cyber essentials)
  • Day to day management of the firms SDWAN, LAN, Wi-Fi and voice networks.
  • Day to day management of the security of both WAN and LAN infrastructures including desktop security.
  • Work with the Head of Technical Services and Security team to define, devise and implement the firms data, voice, security and network strategy.
  • Work with the PMO to develop appropriate project plans and resource planning for all Network and Security Services led projects
  • Identify and implement the following technologies;
  • Network security, including vulnerability assessment and scanning, DDOS protection, penetration testing, encryption at rest and in transit
  • Server and endpoint vulnerability, data encryption and malware protection
  • Endpoint device protection including laptop and mobile devices ie tablets, Smartphones and other mobile devices attached to the firms network eg smartwatches, headsets
  • DMZ and Firewall infrastructure including IDS, IDP, threat emulation, threat extraction and other such technologies
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
    • Required Skills
  • 5 years+ experience in Networking and security management within a legal or professional services environment
  • Experience supervising, leading and motivating a team and creating a high performing culture.
  • Understanding of; ISO27001, Cyber Essentials, NIST and PCI/DSS
  • Ideally CCNA or CCNP certified, along with a CISSP, CISM or CISA certification
  • Extensive knowledge of; TCP/IP, ISPF, DHCP, DNS, OSPF, BGP, HSRP, Spanning Tree, Cisco Meraki, Aruba, Network Access Control, Network Segmentation, VoIP, Router/Switch Config, Cisco/Palo Alto/Checkpoint Firewalls, Malware, SIEM platforms, Vulnerability Management - Rapid7, Qualys or Tenable.
