Job Description

Fixed Term Contract Duration - 12 Months What the Hiring Manager saysWe have an exciting opportunity for an Investment Administrator to join a team within the Quilter Cheviot Birmingham office. The role will be supporting 2 successful Investment Managers within a busy wider team and will cover all administration requirementsfor investment management services and investment advice to a range of private and professional clients, and IFAs. Based on experience, the chosen candidate will initially be a source of support and assistance to the team. Concurrently, we will support and mentor them as they receive training for any relevant qualifications they wish to undertake. About the RoleLevel: Level 1 Department Investment Management: Location: Birmingham Contract type: Maternity cover - FTC Contract Duration: 12 months The Investment Administrator role is required to assist Investment Manager(s) in providing investment management services and/or investment advice to a range of significant private clients.

  • To assist one or more Investment Managers in effective and efficient team support and client administration
  • To assist with the administration of regular suitability checks for all clients by preparing fact find forms, suitability letters etc.
  • To provide clients and/or their agents with information and reports about their portfolio.
  • To ensure all client relationships are properly documented on a timely basis, including checking that "Know Your Client" information and data on the CRM system is maintained.
  • Answering phones, dealing with queries from clients and intermediaries, taking appropriate messages.
  • Ensuring new accounts and amendments to existing client accounts are opened in a timely and accurate manner
  • General client administration:
    • e.g. client payments/ administration of deceased account, process and delegate client correspondence/ process ISA subscriptions/ internal and external post/ room booking for meetings
  • Undertake mail merges.
  • Update databases with revised client details
  • Prepare and submit expenses claims, CPD logs etc.in a timely manner for IMs
  • Have a working knowledge of Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office products
  • To carry out any other duties, which might be reasonably requested by your line manager to ensure the smooth running of the client base.
  • To ensure all duties and tasks are completed within all relevant rules, compliance regulations and in-house policies and procedures.

  • Ideally you will have previous experience working as an administrator within financial services. However experience as an administrator from other regulated professional industries such as Legal and Insurance will be considered.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • An open and inquisitive mind, willing to learn, debate ideas and contribute.
  • Has the potential, if not the current skills, to make the most of this exciting opportunity.
  • Good operational knowledge of interdepartmental processes.
