Job Description

Internal Communications ManagerBirmingham£32-34kGleeson are delighted to be partnering with one of the UKs most prestigious higher education institutions in Birmingham. They are looking for an Internal Communications Manager to join the team.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who may be in a Communications Executive or Senior Communications Executive role who is looking for a step up in their career - please note, managerial experience is not required for this role.You will be responsible for creating and implementing a successful and fluent internal communications strategy for departments on campus. You will be communicating with around 1000 staff across different functions of the campus services.Other responsibilities include:

  • Working collaboratively with the Marketing & Communications Manager in order to creative an effective internal communications strategy.
  • Creating channel frameworks for internal communications - this will be multi-channel.
  • Working closely with HR and People Teams to create a communications "champions" team in order to collaborate and make employees aware of events and incentives.
  • Assisting departmental managers with communications toolkits to enable them to be effective communicators with their team members.
  • Design and implement email communications templates for the campus services team, ensuring consistent branding and tone across all internal emails.
  • Writing content for newsletters which will go out to all internal employees to keep them informed of updates and initiatives.

  • Ideally a degree in a relevant field or strong experience within communications or PR.
  • Exception communication skills.
  • Copywriting - you will need to create engaging and compelling content for various channels.
  • Strong relationship building experience
  • Self starter. You must be able to think of fresh ideas to share with the Marketing & Communications Manager.
