Job Description

Robert Walters are partnering with an exciting client based in Birmingham, to look for an experienced Group Financial Accountant to join their finance team for a period of 6 months.The Group Financial Accountant will be a key member of the finance team and be responsible for the consolidation of 30 financial reports into one entity across the group whilst leading them through their audit. The successful candidate is responsible forthe delivery of the financial accounts for the UK trading entities and the statutory UK consolidation of overseas entities.Location: Birmingham (hybrid & flexible working available)Role: 6 monthsSalary: £300-£350 per day (inside IR35)Responsibilities of the Group Financial Accountant:

  • Complete ownership of the financial accounting and statutory reporting process for a number of different entities within the group
  • Oversee the year end audit process for the UK and other entities with the assistance of the Financial Accountant
  • Complete ownership of consolidating 30 trial balances into one statutory entity
  • Ensure robust financial controls are adhered to throughout the financial year through monthly balance sheet reviews in line with the month end timetable
  • Oversight and responsibility for all tax and compliance processes across the group including but not limited to VAT reporting and Corporation Tax
  • Provide ad-hoc advice and support on tax queries across the Group as they arise
  • Compile all information relating to renewals, including allocation and recharging
  • Oversee the payroll process for the UK
  • Work closely with senior finance management on board papers and presentations
  • Management and development of finance staff
  • Work collaboratively with Group Finance team members, other Group functions and entity Accountants
Essential Requirements of the Interim Group Accountant
  • Fully qualified accountant with a minimum of 2 years PQE (ACCA, CIMA ICAEW or equivalent)
  • Strong IT skills - MS Excel (e.g. Pivot tables, Index Match and charts), Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience in working to tight deadlines
