HW people are partnering with a Midlands based Retail client to appoint an Interim Customs Manager on an initial 6-month contract to join their Central Logistics team.Reporting into the Senior Customs Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the Group remain compliant with HMRC across all imports, exports and DCs, as well as maintaining Bonded Warehouse Status.Overseeing a small team, you will be involved in the day-to-day management of stock being processed efficiently and accurately, and will ensure all inventory discrepancies are investigated, flagged and resolved. You will ensure all CFSP Warehousing requirementsare adhered to, monitored and audited, as well as being responsible for investigating and resolving warehouse CFSP queries.A key focus point will be implementing and managing robust customs compliance programs for all DCs, including the creation, documentation, and review of clear audit trails, including HTS Codes and Import & Export Entries.As well as the above criteria, you will also support the improvement and development of the Customs team and will work with the SLT to report on issues/opportunities and recommend solutions and project plans.The ideal candidate will have an expert knowledge of UK Import and Export Customs, as well as a strong knowledge of CFDP and CDS.Day Rate: between £400 - £500pd inside IR35Contract Length: 6 -12mth contractStart Date: Available within the coming weeksThis role has the potential to turn permanent for the right candidate.How to Apply- If you would like to apply for this position, please submit an up-to-date copy of your CV that supports the criteria set out above.
