Installation and Commissioning EngineerProjects based working on various sites both in the UK and internationally the work is 90% site based so candidate location is flexible the role will involve extensive travel so suitable candidates must be comfortable with this.What they can offer you

You will be responsible for site based installations across the UK and Globally this rolewill have extensive travel involved.Vacancy descriptionThe Installation Project Engineer has the responsibility for the support and delivery of Automation projects, to schedule, specification and within budget to support growth, reduce operating cost and improve efficiency for the 24/7 high speed, highly automatedcustomer fulfilment centres.Im looking for somebody that has experience in installing machines, from initial unloading onsite to handover to the end user, and as part of the team, will be expected to take responsibility for the creation, modification and keeping all training/installation/bestpractice documentation up to date.You will be able to install machines with other Install and Commissioning specialist team members, and when required, be able to lead and train contract resources to ensure cost-effective, consistent and right first time installation of the MHE. You willidentify ways to have safer, faster, more cost-effective installation methods and create business cases alongside other departments to bring the realisation of benefits to future MHE.This is a critical role in ensuring smooth installation and handover to the clients, with many sites planning to go live over the coming years. Extensive travel, both in the UK and internationally, will therefore be expected (around 95% of time spent onsite, locations dependent on requirements at the time)What will you be doing
  • Ensuring machine safety is installed correctly (e.g. Guarding, emergency stop circuits, functional safety)
  • Checking machines are installed correctly to drawings and specification
  • Managing installation to commissioning plan to meet agreed go-live dates
  • Adjusting/fine-tuning MHE equipment for optimum running
  • Managing snagging and defect fault fixes and plan roll-out across site where required
  • Managing quality sign-off by recording all stages of sign-off on standard forms
  • Contributing to weekly and monthly progress reports as required to support Project reporting
  • Solving design-based and methodology-based problems on site in a commercial and project benefitting manner
  • Managing RFI processes, design queries and drive solutions
About you;
  • NVQ4 / HNC Multi skilled engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Proven experience on managing people (both internal and contract staff)
  • Proven record of machinery installations
  • Solid understanding of Health and safety standards
  • Commissioning experience on similar MHE systems
  • Mechanical aptitude to perform mechanical checks
  • Experienced in directing electrical and mechanical contractors on installation best practice
