Job Description

Our client, an exhibition company, is looking for an Import & Export Clerk to join their team in Birmingham, to arrange bookings and collections/deliveries, as well as completing all relevant shipping documentation.Were looking for candidates that have a good understanding of the Freight Forwarding industry and in return, remote working may be considered.The successful Import & Export Clerk will have excellent communication and customer service skills, as you will be updating customers with the progress of their consignments. Having previous administration experience is also a good attribute for this role,as you will be creating files and sending bookings to customs agents. Other general duties include dealing with customers and hauliers, etc.Duties of the Import & Export Clerk:

  • Receiving pre-alerts from overseas agents
  • Advising customers of arrival of cargo into the UK
  • Planning loads and sending load lists to agents
  • Checking manifests once received
  • Receiving and checking relevant import documentation and passing on to shipping lines
Experience required from the Import & Export Clerk:
  • You must have experience in Imports and Exports
  • Computer literate
