Job Description

You will work closely with the HR Manager to ensure the site is provided with an effective and efficient advisory and administrative HR service to meet the business requirements. A full generalist role requiring the development of excellent working relationshipswith management teams and to provide support on projects as required. Experience required:

  • Experience of working in an advisory capacity in a HR department.
  • Generalist HR skills
  • Knowledge of HR systems and Time and attendance system
  • Familiar with payroll processes.
  • Experienced in employee relation processes
  • Awareness of GDPR in an HR context.
  • Industrial industry experience
Skills:
  • Good organisation skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite
  • Hands on approach coupled with the ability to promote corporate ethos and values effectively
  • Ability to demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge of employment law
  • Level 5 CIPD (Not essential)
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and with conflicting priorities
  • Coaching/providing feedback
  • Communication - clear and concise written and verbal

You must be:

What does this role involveEmployee Relations
  • Provide support and advice on employee relations, terms of employment, policies and procedures to managers and work with them to ensure that best practice is adopted.
  • Work closely with the HR Business Partner and key stakeholders to minimise risk to the business and ensure legal issues are handled professionally and are resolved to meet business requirements.
  • Provide support with disciplinaries and grievance, welfare and capability meetings.
  • Work with managers and line managers to ensure that all employment policies are applied in a consistent and non-discriminatory manner.
  • Proactively recommending policy/procedural changes as necessary.
  • Absence management.
Training and Development
  • Deliver HR induction programmes for new starters and ensure probation reviews are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with development of management teams and support succession planning as necessary.
Resourcing and Recruitment
  • Ensure that recruitment and selection activity is conducted in accordance with good equal opportunities and diversity principles and in accordance with other legislation.
  • Manage recruitment and selection of staff up to middle management and senior
  • Work closely with agencies to manage onsite staff as appropriate.
  • Maintain awareness of any issues relating to attrition and absence.
  • Make offers and issue Contracts of Employment.
Payroll
  • Preparation of monthly payroll instructions for the business.
  • Maintain integrity of all payroll related data.
Remuneration and Benefits
  • Collate data relating to annual pay review.
  • Processing of pension information to ensure compliance requirements are met.
Generalist HR Administration
  • To promote and adhere to all Security, Health & Safety and housekeeping policies and processes.
  • Ensure that GDPR compliance is met at all times
  • Provide management information reports as required.
  • To actively contribute and support the 5s initiative to ensure the working environment is clean, tidy and safe.
  • To be flexible in attitude and approach with the ability to work within any of the relevant functions and departments
  • Maintain integrity of all HR related data.
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate and within the capability of the role of Human Resources Advisor.
