Job Description

Job Title: Homeless Outreach PractitionerJob Type: Temporary - 2 monthsLocation: Birmingham - SolihullIndustry: Social Care / Supported Housing The organisation In this Homeless Outreach Practitioner opportunity in Birmingham - Solihull, you will join an organisation providing support for clients who are homeless and at risk of becoming homeless, as well as a more structured longer term floating support serviceto enable clients to maintain their tenancies. Key responsibilities of a Homeless Outreach Practitioner In this Homeless Outreach Practitioner job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working in various locations across the Solihull area, including advice surgeries in community settings, home visits/outreach visits and office-based
  • Reaching out to hard-to-reach clients and support them at a difficult time, whether this be a longstanding addiction or a new addiction/homeless situation due to a change in personal circumstances
  • Assisting with housing advice / helping to fill out applications for Housing / Benefits
Skills & experience of a Homeless Outreach Practitioner
  • Proven track record of working in Homeless Outreach or Housing
  • DBS issues within 12 months or on the update service - child and adult cleared
  • Access to a car - driver is necessary for this role - will involve travelling around the Birmingham area
  • Available for 2 months - length of contract
