An unmissable job opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Operations to join a brilliant client of ours, a global automotive manufacturing business based in Birmingham.This is a newly created post which was previously held by the MD of the business before he progressed into his current role.This position will be part of the senior management team, report directly to the MD and will be the responsible person for all manufacturing activities at the Birmingham location.You will, along with other heads of departments be responsible for the success of the site in terms of output targets, quality, quantity and compliance/H&S.This role has great scope to evolve and develop with progression opportunities in the short to mid-term.Salary = £52-58,000 depending on relevance of experienceBenefits = Quarterly bonus, 25 days holiday + statutory days + shut down in Easter, summer and Christmas, auto enrolment pension, life assurance, free parking.Main duties include: Responsible for 2 managers and 80 production/operations staff Ensuring the site is hitting quality target of 98% right first time Planning labour and resource for manufacturing staff Hold daily production meetings to review maintenance, material and quality concerns Support with unplanned customer demands Oversee induction and on the job training. Authorise offsite training Oversee continuous improvement projects Review and approve yearly planned preventative maintenance plan Control tooling budget and spend Control of site securityopen and locking Staff managementabsences and disciplinaries where necessary Develop 5C standards for H&S and housekeeping Support with business excellence process Core member of HSEQThe ideal candidate for this role: Will have previous operations management or production management experience Ideally from an automotive manufacturing business Is dynamic and ambitious Capable of joining an experienced team and gaining respect and credibility Ideas personyou will be able to make this role your own and have the support of the MD Need to be a good allrounder Can work collaborativelyThis environment will not suit an overly dominant character Will be strategically flexible, can adapt and evolve with the role Ability to push back and express point of view with high level of emotional intelligenceSo as you can see this is an incredible job opportunity, that will lead on to progressing and a great future at this business.So if you match up to the above criteria, do not hesitate and apply today.
