Job Description

Your new role.National Transformation Management Office LeadAs the National Highways Head of TMO, you will be fundamental in helping to bridge the gap between our strategic ambitions and our delivery of exceptional customer service.This role requires the skills of a dynamic and influential leader, combined with effective knowledge of complex programme management, in helping to bring strategy to life.You will be joining the team at an exciting time, as we are setting up a new Transformation & Performance department, charged with achieving benefits that help to deliver our second Roads Investment Strategy targets, whilst setting up the enterprise modeland evolving our capabilities to meet the demands of our third road period (RIS3).You will be an integral part of the newly formed National Highways Change Centre of Excellence, responsible for compelling and robust change management practices from change design through to embedment.You will be engaging a broad range of stakeholders, from Executive Directors through to Front Line Leaders, to ensure a smooth and effective transformation journey through the company.You will also be actively shaping, executing and governing a complex series of ambitious change initiatives.If you are looking for an exciting and a challenging opportunity to grow your career, gain exposure to a wide range of business functions and build change & transformation capability, this is the right role for you!An informal blended working approach has been adopted for many of our roles across National Highways.   • Accountable for the National Highways Transformation reporting & governance structure
  • Lead effective interfaces and reporting/governance drumbeat with workstreams across National Highways
  • Responsible for the integrated National Highways Transformation delivery plan & for linking performance/benefits attainment with these plans
  • Manage the risk & assurance of delivery plans and benefits attainment
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to streamline the various TMO structures, consolidating and embedding simplified and streamlined processes and practices
  • Getting in front of risks & issues. Effectively managing a forward look and driving key decision making forums and agendas
To Be Successful You Will Have
  • A strong track record in leading multi-disciplinary teams dispersed across large geographic areas with a natural ability to influence others
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement & influencing skills. Ability to manage resistance to change, generate buy in and successfully manage an ambitious transformation programme
  • Experience of driving complex initiatives to achieve business benefits
  • Knowledge of establishing and managing a Transformation Management Office and striking an appropriate balance between central control and federated delivery
  • Experience of working with and managing external suppliers and subject matter experts
  • Ability to structure and provide transparency around key TMO functions including risk, delivery progress and benefits attainment
