Job Description

A unique opportunity for an experienced Head of IT to join a growing SME business as they look to scale their operations from their Birmingham headquarters. The role will cover elements of hands-on and strategic responsibilities across a range of excitingtechnology projects.Client Details

  • With a £100m turnover, and over 80 sites throughout the UK, they are firmly established within their sector, and are now hiring for an experienced Head of IT to help drive their national technology estate to new heights.
Description
  • The business has an outsourced IT Service Provider, that manages general Service Desk support for the companys 500+ userbase, as well as BAU maintenance of core infrastructure. You will ensure this relationship adheres to SLAs, as well as exploring potentialinsourcing opportunities that best benefit the business.
  • As the Head of IT, you will be responsible for initiating and driving technological change across the organisation, in line with the companys exciting expansion plans. You will take ownership of project work, from both a strategic and delivery perspective.
  • You will have responsibility for line management of the companys small IT function, taking ownership of 2 direct reports, but also exploring headcount expansion in line with business growth and needs.
  • The role will be based locally at the companys Birmingham headquarters, with an expectation of being 4 days per week on-site, and 1 day remote. We are therefore seeking candidates local to Birmingham.
Profile
  • As the Head of IT, you will ideally have a minimum of 5 years commercial experience in a similar role, preferably working within an SME environment.
  • You will be highly adept at operating within a fast-paced, high-demand environment, where you will need to wear multiple hats and be flexible to adapt on a regular basis to change, working with a variety of senior stakeholders.
  • Whilst this is a leadership role, with strategic responsibilities, the technology team is lean, and you will be comfortable being standalone when needed, and getting hands-on where required with the team.
  • You will have a proven track record in evolving IT functions, and this experience can include areas such as on-premise infrastructure, cloud technologies, ERP and WMS systems.
  • You will have ownership of budgets from an IT perspective, and work closely with board-level colleagues on the strategic impact of IT across the business, as well as responsibility on areas such as IT recruitment.
  • Given the location of the head office in the Birmingham area, you will preferably be based locally in the West Midlands.
Job Offer
  • £80,000 - £90,000 + Corporate Benefits Package.
