Job Description

Robert Walters is recruiting for an Interim Head of Finance Operations for a well-known business in Central Birmingham. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day management and control of finance teams ensuring that all aspects of financialaccounting, management accounting and accounts payable are delivered to high professional standards. This will initially be a 4-6 month contract with a view to go permanent once the contract ends.The candidate should be able to assist in the strategic financial planning of the organisation and ensuring that the finance team deliver results in a timely manner. They be responsible for the effective operation of the financial controls environment followingbest practice and to ensure that all statutory obligations are complied with. The Head of Finance Operations will lead not only the financial reporting team but also have full responsibility for the accounts payable team. The right individual will have provenexperience of working within an SSC environment where they have led the AP team who deal in high volume transactions (more than 100,000 transactions a month).

  • Business forecasting and financial planning
  • Management and leadership of service delivery teams and complete accountability for operational service delivery across all F&A disciplines
  • Driving financial & operational performance
  • Cash flow and cost analysis
  • Managing and administering full end-to-end invoice processing and chasing outstanding invoices and purchase orders
  • Managing queries across all UK & ROI sites
  • Ensuring all incoming invoices, statements and collection letters are administered appropriately
  • Reconcile specified vendor statements on a regular basis and ensure payments are made in line with vendor payment terms, ensuring appropriate invoice approvals are always in place
  • Preparing and delivering monthly reports and financial forecasts
  • Management of long-term business plans and drive improvements where necessary and production of Monthly budgeting and cost allocation
  • Accurate and timely completion of month end processes and ongoing development of financial systems and processes
  • Supporting commercial, investment and strategic decisions
The ideal candidate will be:
  • Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) ideally with strong financial experience
