Job Description

Head of Finance required for a superb medium-sized product-led group based in Birmingham, in an Finance Director designate capacity. The business has stood the test of COVID and come through with tremendous results, and is looking to introduce this brand new role to fill the vacuum between the accounts team and the current Finance Director. This role will allow the right candidate to introduce numerous changes to the finance team, and ultimately succession planning will result in progression to the number one finance role as the incumbent joins the senior leadership team.As the Head of Finance, you will be primarily responsible for:

  • Overseeing the finance team of 16 staff preparing monthly financial accounts
  • Delivery of monthly cash flow forecasting and analysis
  • Ownership of annual financial reporting and leading the audit process with external auditors
  • Continuous process improvement of reporting processes, and development of new insightful reports to support all areas of the business outside of finance
  • Supporting new systems and processes as required in response to growth
  • Ensuring all financial reporting adheres to UKGAAP and international reporting standards
  • Leading the internal finance business partnering function
  • Acting as the number two to the Finance Director in all matters
  • Having a presence at board and senior leadership meetings, where necessary
  • Ensuring strong progression routes for the junior members in the team, consistent progression planning
    • You must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACMA or ACCA) with experience in medium- or large-sized companies (£50m+ revenues). You will ideally have experience in managing sizeable finance teams (10+ people). The right candidate must have serious ambition to step into the Finance Director position, and be wanting to join this companys journey for the long haul.
