Hybrid working conditions are currently in place which means working remotely and coming to the office when required.Close: 3rd April 2022Do you want to be at the heart of delivering housing, employment and mixed-use development projects worth billions of pounds across the West MidlandsAs Head of Development and Delivery, youll have a unique opportunity to create a public-private partnership at the forefront of Levelling Up and seeing projects taken from concept to delivery.Youll play a critical role in appraising and co-designing schemes with project sponsors who are seeking funding from over half a billion pounds of devolved housing and land funds.Leading, managing and coaching a team of experts who oversee the delivery of landmark regional housing and brownfield development investments. Youll ensure they take projects from concept all the way to delivery against challenging deadlines and millstones.Were looking for someone who is truly passionate about developing land and sites across the West Midlands which will have a long-lasting impact for future generations.Our Housing, Property and Regeneration Directorate is developing the UKs most successful, innovative and delivery focussed housing, property and regeneration programme.We want to unlock and enable the potential and power of the West Midlands housing, property and regeneration, through more devolved funding and opportunities to step up our land, property investment and regeneration work.We are an integrated and dynamic team covering a suite of housing, property and regeneration policy management, investment and delivery.What will you be doing* Lead the effective and efficient project and programme management and appraisal of a pipeline of strategically important and high-profile real estate projects in the region* Responsible for the deployment of hundreds of millions of pounds of devolved housing and land funds into some of the largest land and development schemes in the region and country* Responsible for taking projects and schemes through the WMCAs Single Commissioning Framework - from initial design and concept stage through various approval points* Lead the production and communication of high-quality reports, evidence, business cases and briefings of commercially sensitive and complex real estate schemes and projects to the WMCA Senior Leadership Team, Housing Board and Investment Board, Mayor andthe WMCA BoardAbout youYoull be motivated by the challenges youll be presented with and not afraid to try new ideas - striking a balance between innovation and managing public resources.A commercially aware real estate professional who understands how to get complex real estate projects to investor-ready stageAn experienced chartered surveyor who is comfortable appraising and negotiating grant funding agreements and public sector investment cases for landmark projects and programmes across the region.A motivated can-do individual who understands what it takes to lead and manage an expert team tasked with unlocking and accelerating some of the most difficult to deliver schemes in the country.The above provides a flavour of the experience, skills and knowledge were looking for, you can get more detail from the job description at the end of this advert.
