Job Description

Closing Date - 15/12/2020 The Head of Audiences and Marketing will have a pivotal role in achieving the ambition for the ten distinct festival projects to reach 66 million people. This will be through the development and delivery of an innovative audience and marketing strategy that takes account of the UK-wide nature of the festival, the four nations that are involved, the five sectors that are represented, the international ambition of what is being created, and the range and diversity of the organisations and individuals involved in the Creative Teams.Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an innovative and responsive audience and marketing strategy for Festival UK* 2022.
  • Lead a team to maximise marketing and digital to build audiences and support the ambition for each of the ten festival commissions to reach millions of people, across the UK and globally.
  • Help ensure that CRM is utilised to maximum effect for our audience development.
  • Working with the Communications Director oversee the development of a new brand and website for the festival.
  • Maximise the potential of digital to creatively reach audiences and showcase the festival programme.
  • Work with festival producers and commissioned teams to develop and implement campaigns that reach beyond obvious audiences and reflect and maximise the cross-cutting ambition of STEAM.
  • Work with the Delivery Agencies in the four nations to communicate projects at a local and national, as well as UK-wide level.
  • Skills and Experience RequiredEssential
  • Substantial experience of overseeing successful marketing or audience development campaigns, nationally and ideally internationally.
  • Experience of working to engage local people and communities.
  • Experience of engaging audiences through different channels and platforms, including advertising, print, direct mail, broadcast and digital.
  • Strategic planning.
  • Analytics and audience data.
  • Procurement and management of external agencies.
  • Desirable
  • Knowledge of audience development practice in the cultural sector
  • Knowledge of international models and initiatives around building audiences
  • Experience of developing innovative and creative partnerships.
