Job Description

A new role for a Head of Actuarial Systems is sought by this major pension / insurance provider to maximise business benefits through the use of Cloud Technologies and DevOps Automation to build more efficient process.As the new Head of Actuarial Systems you will lead teams of architects, actuaries, developers and DevOps Engineers to meet the business strategic goals by delivering best in class automated, cloud based Actuarial Valuation platform and reporting systems.In order to be successful in securing this Head of Actuarial Systems role you will need to demonstrate the following experience:

  • Previous experience of leading an Actuarial Systems team for a major insurance or pension provider.
  • Experience of actuarial modelling systems
  • A knowledge of regulatory reporting including Solvency II plus knowledge of IFRS-17
  • An understanding of Azure DevOps, source control methodologies and experience with CI/CD processes
  • Good team leadership skills across multi-disciplined teams, setting strategic directions and delivering quality outcomes.
  • Excellent senior stake holder management and influencing skills
Those candidates who also have the following experience would have an advantage in securing this role:
  • Fully Qualified Actuarial experience
  • Experience of asset / liability modelling (eg. with-profits, ERMs and Bulk Purchase Annuities)
  • Prior experience in the life insurance industry
