Job Description

Graduate/Junior Mechanical Engineer£22,000-£25,000On-site - BirminghamWere looking for a recent graduate for a Junior Mechanical Engineer position at a rapidly growing, world specialist optical manufacturing firm.Were also looking for those who dont necessarily have a degree but do have good experience in design in an engineering environment.Youll be working with world-leading experts and you will have a track record of making things happen, able to deliver to deadlines as part of a team and individually.This is an on-site role based out of their office in central Birmingham, offering up to £25,000, depending on experience.Key Responsibilities

  • Youll be using state of the art equipment to design and produce customised prototype parts in tandem with the development team.
  • Assembling complex medical devices
  • Youll be designing and developing state of the art medical opthalmic products from first concept and through the whole life cycle to it being realised as a product
  • Providing life cycle support for products such as recallibration and keeping items up to spec.
  • Working closely with the development team to continually improve processes and ensure the delivery of world class technology
  • Providing technical support to customers and employees
Skills and Qualifications
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivelant
  • Practical, hands on technical and mechanical skills
  • Great organisation and understanding of process
  • Strong in independent work and autonomous practice, as well as collaboratively.
Desired skills and qualifications
  • CAD experience
  • Prior assembly experience
  • Prior experience in rapid prototyping (including 3D Printers)
  • Understanding on reading and creating engineering drawings
