Job Description

Are you a graduate looking for full time work in Birmingham Are you considering a career in teaching and looking to gain practical classroom experienceI am currently recruiting for energetic and confident graduates for cover supervisor roles in good local Academies in and across Birmingham. We can provide full training in our office.We can offer day-to-day supply as well as long-term roles.The role will include:

  • Overseeing classes in the absence of the teacher
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons in a variety of subjects
  • Using provided resources to encourage learning
  • Managing the behaviour within the classroom
  • Pastoral and learning support
  • Developing independent study skills and peer learning
  • Managing handover back to the teacher
We welcome applications from graduates with experience of:
  • Working in schools or colleges
  • Sports coaching
  • Youth work
  • Drama Workshop / drama school/ theatre in education
  • Art workshop
  • Teaching children or leading childrens clubs in community groups or places of worship
  • Breakfast clubs/ After school club
  • Summer Camps/ PGL
  • Scouts/Guides/Brownies/Cubs
  • Outdoor activities instructor / Duke of Edinburgh/ orienteering with young people

To join us and be successful in this graduate cover supervisor role, you will need to:
  • a minimum of six weeks experience in the last 3 years of working with groups of children or teenagers
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with 10 years of employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
  • Bachelors degree or similar equivalent qualification
