Job Description

Freight Forwarder - European Road FreightWest MidlandsFull time office-based roleMVP is partnering with a very successful, international logistics organisation as they continue to expand and develop their existing suite of services. They are now seeking to appoint an experienced Freight Forwarder with knowledge of European road freightoperations to join a small team at their West Midlands location. In this role, you will work alongside the Director of the UK business, taking control of day-to-day operations across a rapidly expanding European trailer service (groupage and full loads).In this role you will be:

  • Managing operations across European road freight - groupage and full loads
  • Pricing a variety of freight movements, offering quotes to customers
  • Actively working to grow the division through an existing client base and potentially own contacts
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Providing import and export solutions via road freight
  • Liaising extensively with existing and new customers
  • Negotiating rates and services with hauliers and sub-contractors
  • Prospecting for additional business as appropriate
You will need the following experience and skills:
  • Significant experience and knowledge of European road freight forwarding operations
  • Knowledge of customs requirements and regulations for European movements
  • Comfortable negotiating with hauliers and sub-contractors
  • Strong knowledge of conditions / regulations (CMR, RHA etc)
  • Excellent customer service skills and abilities
  • Flexibility and positivity
  • Great relationship-building abilities - with customers and sub-contractors
  • Strong desire to succeed, self-starter
  • Able to be office-based five days per week, Monday to Friday
